Watch: Rolex Sea Dweller 1665 Great White Watch Only
Stock Number: £17,995
It is really rare to come across something as special as this! This Rolex Sea Dweller 1665 is being sold by the original owner who was a deep sea diver for 30 years and although the papers have been misplaced over the years it comes with detailed provenance, diver’s badges and a recent Rolex Service. In fact, the markings to the watch itself provide us with details of Rolex Services have taken place in 1982, 84, 85 92, 05, 06 and more recently 2020. The vast majority of those services were required as the watch was used for ultimately its original design of deep sea diving.
We believe the bracelet to be a later version that the case which dates to 1976 due to wear and tear over the years.
This stunning timepiece represents excellent value and phenomenal investment potential in our view. The watch has the diver’s name inscribed to the rear of the case as this was common practice at the time. We have documented evidence of the watch being taken to the depths of the Amazon basin, The North Sea and the Baltic Sea, just to name a few.
The watch does indeed come with history of being used for commercial deep sea diving across the world including the salvage mission of the sunk ferry carrier “The Estonia” back in 1994 (Diver’s copy of badge and Provence document available upon request).
We have left this watch unpolished and the last Rolex service required a change of seals.
